How to Track CNIC Application Status Online
Track your CNIC at id.nadra.gov.pk using your token/tracking number from the application receipt. The portal shows your current processing stage: received, under process, printing, dispatched, or delivered. You can also track via the Pak Identity app or by calling NADRA at 1777.
Understanding the Tracking Process
After submitting your CNIC application (new, renewal, or modification), NADRA provides a token/tracking number on your receipt. This number lets you monitor every stage of processing from submission to delivery. Checking regularly helps you catch issues early — if your application is stuck at a particular stage for too long, something may need attention.
How to Track Your CNIC Online
- Visit id.nadra.gov.pk or open the Pak Identity app.
- Navigate to "Track Application" or "Token Status."
- Enter your token/tracking number from the application receipt.
- The system displays your application's current status and processing stage.

Tracking via Phone — NADRA Helpline
Call 1777 (NADRA helpline) and provide your tracking number. The operator can check your status and, if there's an issue, explain what's needed to proceed. The helpline operates during business hours and is the best option if the online tracking shows an unexpected status or "On Hold."
Tracking via SMS
Send your tracking number to NADRA's SMS short code (if active — check nadra.gov.pk for the current number). Some processing updates are also sent proactively via SMS to the phone number you provided during application.

What to Do When Tracking Shows Problems
- "On Hold" status. Your application has been flagged — usually a data discrepancy, missing document, or duplicate CNIC issue. Call 1777 or visit the NADRA center where you applied to find out what's needed.
- Stuck at "Under Process" for 20+ days. For normal processing, this is still within range. For urgent processing, it shouldn't exceed 10 days. Call 1777 to inquire.
- "Dispatched" but not received. Check with TCS courier using any tracking number on the dispatch notification SMS. If TCS attempted delivery and failed (wrong address, nobody home), the CNIC returns to the NADRA regional office. Collect from there.
- Token number lost. Visit the NADRA center where you applied with your old CNIC or CNIC number. They can look up your application in the system and provide the tracking number.
Keep your receipt safe. The token/tracking number on your application receipt is the only way to track your CNIC. Without it, tracking requires an in-person visit to the NADRA center. Take a photo of the receipt immediately after receiving it.
