How to Check SNGPL Bill Online by Consumer Number
Visit bill.sngpl.com.pk, enter your consumer number (printed on the top-left of your SNGPL bill), and click Search. Your current bill amount, due date, gas units consumed, and payment status appear instantly.
Where to Find Your SNGPL Consumer Number
Your SNGPL consumer number is printed on the top-left section of your gas bill — it's a numeric code typically 8-10 digits long. Don't confuse it with your meter number or reference number. The consumer number is labeled "Consumer No." or "Khata No." and stays the same every billing cycle for your connection.
If you've lost your bill, check previous months' bills (same number), any past payment receipt, or visit your nearest SNGPL office with your CNIC to retrieve it.

Checking Your SNGPL Bill on the Official Portal
- Open bill.sngpl.com.pk in any browser.
- Enter your consumer number in the search field.
- Click Search or Submit.
- Your bill details display: current charges, gas units (in cubic meters or BTU), due date, payment status, and arrears.
The SNGPL portal is reasonably reliable — less prone to outages than some electricity DISCO portals. Bills are typically uploaded 10-15 days before the due date. If the latest bill isn't showing, the billing cycle may not have completed yet.
Other Ways to Check Your SNGPL Gas Bill
SNGPL mobile app: Available on Google Play. Enter your consumer number once, and the app shows your current and previous bills with push notifications for new bills.
SMS service: Some SNGPL regions support SMS-based bill checks. Send your consumer number to SNGPL's designated short code (check sngpl.com.pk for your region's number). Response time varies.
Third-party sites: Several Pakistani bill aggregator websites support SNGPL bill lookups using the same consumer number. Useful when the official portal is under maintenance.
Understanding Your SNGPL Bill
SNGPL bills differ from electricity bills in several ways. Gas is measured in cubic meters (or BTUs) rather than kilowatt-hours. The slab system is simpler — domestic consumers have 2-3 tiers based on monthly consumption. Winter bills are typically higher than summer because of heating and water heating, the opposite pattern of electricity bills.
Key charges on your SNGPL bill: base gas charges (units × slab rate), GIDC (Gas Infrastructure Development Cess — a government surcharge), GST, meter rent, and any arrears from previous months. The GIDC is similar to electricity's FPA — a pass-through charge that fluctuates.
Bill seems wrong? Verify your meter reading against the bill before paying. If there's a discrepancy, see how to file a complaint for a wrong gas bill before the due date.
SNGPL Coverage and Service Area
SNGPL (Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited) serves Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. If your property is in Sindh or Balochistan, your gas provider is SSGC instead. The two companies have completely separate billing systems — an SNGPL consumer number won't work on the SSGC portal and vice versa.
Common Mistakes When Checking SNGPL Bills Online
- Wrong consumer number format. Enter the number exactly as printed — no extra spaces or zeros. It's shorter than an electricity reference number.
- Using the electricity reference number. Your gas consumer number and electricity reference number are completely different codes from different companies. Don't mix them up.
- Checking during billing transition. For 2-3 days around billing date, the portal may show the old bill while the new one is being processed. Wait a day and try again.
- Sindh/Balochistan residents on the wrong portal. SNGPL covers Punjab and KPK only. If you're in Sindh, use the SSGC portal instead.

Yes. The SNGPL app is available on Google Play. You can save your consumer number for quick bill access, view billing history, and receive notifications when new bills are generated.
Gas consumption increases significantly in winter due to heating (room heaters, blowers) and water heating (geysers). A geyser alone can consume 3-5x more gas than summer cooking usage. This seasonal pattern is the opposite of electricity, where summer bills are higher.
