What to Do When Tracking Shows Problems
- "Under Process" for over 30 days (normal type). Background verification is likely delayed. Visit or call your passport office with the token number to inquire. Some cases require additional police verification which extends processing.
- Status not updating. The online system sometimes lags behind actual processing. If it's been more than a week without any status change, call the passport office for a verbal update.
- "Dispatched" but not received at RPO. Transit between the central printing facility and your RPO takes 2-5 days. Wait the full period before worrying. If still not at the RPO after 7 days, contact the printing facility through DGIP's helpline.
- Application "On Hold." Something flagged in your application — possibly a name discrepancy, background check issue, or document problem. Contact the passport office immediately to find out what's needed.
Keep your token receipt safe. The token number is your primary tracking identifier. Without it, tracking requires a passport office visit with your CNIC. Photograph the receipt immediately after your appointment.
